The WSU Insider will continue its online updates throughout the summer on weekdays, though with fewer new posts and less frequent daily push emails. The WSU Announcements section and the WSU Events calendar will still be updated daily. From Monday to Thursday until late August, news highlights will be included in the daily push emails, with the regular Friday emails resuming at the start of the fall semester.
WSU’s Own Amrita Lahiri Wins Prestigious 2024 Library Excellence Award for Enhancing Student Research Skills
Amrita Lahiri, an assistant professor at Washington State University's Carson College of Business, has received the 2024 Library Excellence Award. This award recognizes non-library faculty or staff at WSU who significantly support the university's libraries. Lahiri's work with WSU business librarian Gabriella Reznowski has improved her students' research skills, especially in formulating research questions and finding reliable sources.
WSU Alumnus Dr. Brian Jensen Appointed as New Director of the Institute for Shock Physics
Washington State University (WSU) has appointed Dr. Brian Jensen as the new director of its Institute for Shock Physics (ISP). Dr. Jensen, a WSU alumnus and former physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, succeeds Yogendra Gupta, who has led the ISP since it was founded 26 years ago. This change is significant for the institute, which is known for its research in shock wave dynamics and contributions to dynamic compression science.

The VICEROY Northwest Institute for Cybersecurity Education and Research (CySER) at Washington State University (WSU) will host a summer workshop on the Pullman campus from May 20-29, 2024.
