Jerry Seinfeld is coming to Clearwater in December

What’s the deal with this? Car-collecting, cereal-crunching comedian Jerry Seinfeld is coming to Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall on Dec. 14 with two shows at 5 and 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 2 at 10 a.m.

Seinfeld co-created his eponymous sitcom with Larry David in 1989. It ran for nine seasons, collecting Emmy, Golden Globes and People’s Choice awards along the way.

Post “Seinfeld,” the comedian’s projects include the Netflix series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” “Jerry Before Seinfeld” and “23 Hours to Kill.” He’s written, produced and starred in the films “Comedian” and “Bee Movie,” directed and produced the Broadway hit, “Colin Quinn: Long Story Short” and has written three bestselling books, “Is this Anything?,” “Seinlanguage” and “The Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee Book.”

Earlier this year, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index valued Seinfeld’s net worth at more than $1 billion, due in large part to a series of syndication deals for “Seinfeld,” which netted him about $465 million.

Fans relate to his observational humor about even the most mundane, like the McDonald’s sign and supermarket rubber dividers.

Tickets start at $63.75 and go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the ticket office at Ruth Eckerd Hall, by calling 727-791-7400 or by visiting rutheckerdhall.com. Members get early access starting Monday, July 29.
