Rays place reliever Colin Poche on IL among a series of roster moves

ST. PETERSBURG — Colin Poche was warming up to pitch the ninth inning Friday when he felt something wasn’t right with his left shoulder.

A late-night MRI and a Saturday morning doctor exam later, the 30-year-old reliever was placed on the 15-day injured list with what is being called left shoulder inflammation.

Manager Kevin Cash and Poche said the hope is that he responds quickly to treatment and can return before the end of the season, but that won’t be known for a while.
