TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A carjacking suspect was seen on dash camera video stopping on the side of a busy Florida roadway on Wednesday to leave the victim’s child there.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested Willio Petioma, 35, after he drove away in a woman’s car while her 3-year-old daughter was inside.

Deputies said the woman was involved in a traffic crash and was in the process of exchanging information when Petioma jumped into the driver’s seat and drove away.

“Investigators say the mother grabbed onto the front passenger door of her vehicle and yelled out to the subject that her child was inside of the car. The mother was dragged before falling to the ground as the subject drove away,” deputies said.

In the video, a man, allegedly Petioma, removes the child from the vehicle while strapped into a car seat, leaving the seat on the sidewalk of an Oakland Park roadway.

The suspect was then seen in another video entering a Family Dollar where he allegedly used the victim’s credit card.

Petioma was arrested on Sunday and is facing charges of kidnapping, carjacking, interfering with custody of a minor, and illegal use of a credit card. Deputies said he also had a warrant from Palm Beach County for possession of cocaine and resisting an officer.
