TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A traffic stop conducted in South Carolina led to a Florida woman’s arrest after deputies discovered cocaine hidden in her vehicle’s compartment.

On July 3, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on the woman’s vehicle on northbound I-95.

3 arrests made after Hillsborough deputy seriously injured during traffic stop, sheriff’s office says

Carmen Denisse Garcia Roman, of Orlando, was stopped for speeding. But during the stop, deputies “developed reasonable suspicion” of criminal activity.

During a search of Roman’s vehicle, they discovered an aftermarket compartment that held three kilos (approximately 6.6 pounds) of cocaine.
