Man Apprehended After Jumping From Florida Hotel Balcony To Avoid Arrest

Hillsborough County, FL - Florida Deputies arrested a suspect in multiple armed robberies following a dramatic escape attempt where the man jumped from the sixth floor balcony to avoid arrest.

Hillsborough County deputies arrested Jorge Garcia-Palacio at The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa on Monday.

Authorities investigating multiple armed robberies located Garcia-Palacio, a suspect in the crimes, at the hotel, and upon seeing detectives at his door, he slammed it shut before leaping from the sixth-floor balcony and landing on the second floor.

Despite the daring attempt, Garcia-Palacio was quickly apprehended by deputies.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said of Monday's arrest "This suspect's theatrics were no challenge for our determined deputies. The collaborative efforts between our team and the Tampa Police Department ensured a safe capture, prioritizing the well-being of our community."

Garcia-Palacio now faces various charges.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released video footage of the attempted escape on their social media channels.
