Grand Opening of Pickleball Courts at Weber Park

UNION, NJ - A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Union's newest pickleball court was held on Tuesday afternoon at Weber Park.

"These courts are just the beginning of our inclusive vision," said Union Mayor Manuel Figueiredo.  "In the coming months, we will be enhancing Weber Park with a range of facilities, including a renovated tennis and basketball court, a repaired hitting wall court, and a new bankshot court."

Figueiredo said "bankshot is a game that players of all ages and physical abilities can enjoy together, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity.  We are also planning to introduce new picnic areas and amenities like shade, tables, and grills, ensuring that everyone can make the most of our park.  The grand opening could not have come at a better time for the community."

The event included adult and youth lessons and an open play segment.  Hot dogs, drinks and Italian ice were available to the attendees.
