    Lenape Regional H.S. District to Get a $2M Boost in State Aid : The Lenape Regional School District will receive additional state funding under a bill recently signed by Governor Murphy to offset the cuts caused by calculations under the School Funding Reform Act. Under the new law, Lenape Regional School District (BRSD) will receive $2,111.448 to help ease the impact of $4.6 million in state aid cuts announced in March. The proposed school aid 19.86 percent cut in funding would bring the district's funding down to $18,931,779, which includes dollars for transportation, special education, and security.

    Lenape Students Form 'Massively Needed' Cancer Support Group : Lenape High School seniors Sierra Volpe and Julia Moon say they have more in common than their grades. They are both 18 years old. They both play field hockey. They are both heading to college in the fall. They, like roughly 600,000 other Americans can say, have lost someone they know to cancer. The tragedies spurred them to act, according to Moon.

    Trio of New Police Academy Grads Join Mt. Laurel Police Department : The Mount Laurel Police Department (MLPD) welcomed three new officers to their ranks this month following their recent graduation from the Atlantic County Police Academy. Officer Abruzzese, Officer Jeronimo and Officer Farley were part of the Atlantic County Police Academy Class #28 which graduated during a ceremony held at the Atlantic City Convention Center on May 10.

    All Hope May Not Be Lost for Sunnyside Farm : Attempts have been made to preserve Sunnyside Farm along Hooton Road in Mount Laurel Township since the municipality was asked in 2018 by the state of New Jersey to try and avoid tearing down the 186-year-old structure, the Township’s solicitor told TAPinto Mount Laurel.

    Ribbon Cutting Celebrates ‘Amazing’ Larchmont Tennis Courts Improvements : Mount Laurel Township held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday for the grand opening of the Larchmont Tennis Courts, the culmination of a $1.1 million project to improve the recreational amenity. Mount Laurel's Deputy Manager and Superintendent of Public Works Jerry Mascia previously told TAPinto Mount Laurel that the project would restore the soil at the site to keep the surface in place from cracking and sinking.

    Those Who Fought and Died for U.S. Honored During Mount Laurel Memorial Day Tribute : The Mount Laurel community came together on Thursday night to honor those who fought and died for the United States at the Township's annual Memorial Day Tribute. Originally slated to be held at Laurel Acres Park, the event was moved to the Mount Laurel Community Center due to the threat of rain. Attendees listened attentively as several local, county and state leaders spoke. The national anthem was sung with a musical background, “Taps” was played on a bugle and “Amazing Grace” was played on bagpipes. Attendees also acknowledged the presence of the many police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, as well as members of Scout Troop 76, at the tribute.

    Three Mount Laurel Students Named to UConn's Dean's List for Spring 2024 : Three students from Mount Laurel have been named to the University of Connecticut's Dean's List for the Spring 2024 semester. Maya Lanzisera, Zachary Marshall and Evelyn Pazan have earned the achievement, the University announced this week.
