    South Brunswick Highlights Road and Sewer Projects Done this Past Year

    SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - In a recent press release, South Brunswick Township highlighted major roadway, sewer, and water improvements done over the summer. The press release includes a list of ongoing projects.

    “Undeniably, there is some inconvenience for residents, but it is important to continually maintain our roads and utilities,” said Mayor Charlie Carley in a released statement, “South Brunswick has long been dedicated to assuring clean drinking water and a good roadway network.”

    According to the township, roadway improvements have been completed on Williams Road, Sand Hill Road, Fresh Ponds Road, and in the Fresh Impressions Neighborhood.

    Utility and additional road improvements are scheduled to begin in October 2024 in the Fresh Impressions Neighborhood and Timber Ponds Neighborhood.

    Improvements to Benson Road, Dillon Road, Tyne Court, and Wetherhill Neighborhood are scheduled to begin in Spring 2025.

    Ongoing improvements include water distribution system tie-ins on New Road and the installation of a new traffic signal at Route 130 and Friendship Road.

    The base paving for the Freedom Trail bikeway is complete and the contractor has installed new pedestrian crossing signals. Final paving of the bikeway will begin soon, according to the township.

    The expansion of the library has been ongoing since 2023. Footings and foundation walls have been constructed, as well as the elevator shaft. Upcoming work will include the excavation of the storm basins.

    The Villagio Drainage Improvements is close to fifty percent complete. The work consists mainly of regrading existing drainage swales to provide proper drainage and the installation of underdrain conduits to assist in problematic drainage areas.

    Projects currently underway in South Brunswick Township being done by Middlesex County and NJDOT include the Henderson Road culverts replacement project, Kory Drive with Finnegans Lane signalization, and pavement improvements to Route 1 intersections.
