Nutley's Lincoln School Gets "New" Auditorium, New Principal

NUTLEY, NJ - During the Aug.26 open public meeting of the Nutley Board of Education, it was announced that there are some new things happening at Lincoln School ahead of the first day of classes next week.

It was announced that repairs to the auditorium were completed this summer. TAPinto Nutley was on the scene on Columbus Day 2023 when a contractor started a fire on the roof of the auditorium. Classes were canceled for several days following the fire to allow for smoke remediation. To avoid disruption to classes, the construction work to repair the roof permanently was postponed until summer.

A statement was made regarding the replacement of the century-old seating in the auditorium.

In other news, it was announced that Jackie Devore will be the principal at Lincoln School.

Named in honor of the 16th President of the United States, celebrity Nutleyite Martha Stewart's mother taught at Lincoln School. Other Lincoln notables include actor Robert Blake.
