    Barnegat High School Dance Team Shines at UDA Camp

    BARNEGAT, NJ - The Barnegat High School's Varsity and JV Dance Team attended the Universal Dance Associations Dance Camp at Scranton University this August.

    Going into this 4-day camp, the Bengals had two goals they wanted to accomplish: getting their bids to UDA Nationals 2025 and being awarded the super spirit stick.

    They accomplished both.

    "They improved on their dance technique, and learned many dances, bonded as a team and bonded with other dance teams from the Northeast," Coach Stanton said. "It was a wonderful experience for all of us."

    The Bengals came home with 2 bids for Nationals, 1 bid for Varsity, who received 22 blue ribbons and 1 bid for JV, who received 13 blue and 1 red ribbon. They also received 2 superior trophies for their Nationals bids.

    "I am proud to say that with their hard work and their evaluations on the last day of camp, we qualified for Nationals to be held from January 31–February 1, 2025," Coach Stanton shared.

    Riley Donlon, Olivia Linton, Adriana Ramilo , Ava Smith, Gabbie Buschiazzo, Aubrey Freund & Kylie Koehler auditioned & were selected as All American Dancers.

    The team was awarded the Super Spirit from the UDA Staff the first night. Olivia Linton & Elysse Campos were awarded a "pin-it-forward pin" for being recognized for going above and beyond.

    Spirit pins from other team dancers were presented to Olivia, Riley, Adriana, Ava and Aubrey.

    Special recognition ribbons were handed out to new team members Amanda, Elysse, Chloe, Aubrey, Molly, Kylie, Alyssa, & Rileigh.

    "Lastly, both teams were awarded the spirit stick each night for always being respectful, working hard and spirited," Coach Stanton continued, "such wonderful accomplishments!"

    "I am very proud of the girls' hard work and dedication that they have shown, and we are so excited for this season. We are looking forward to football & basketball games, dancing with our friends at Meadowedge Adult Social Club, Community services and, of course, preparing for Nationals 2025. We know that we have alot of work ahead of us, but we are ready for the challenge and BELIEVE we can do it. We are "ALL IN" Coach Stanton concluded.
