River Bandits open ONSL playoffs at home against Southpaws

The Tarboro River Bandits will begin the Old North State League playoffs with the best-of-three series against the New Bern Southpaws at 7 p.m. today at Tarboro Municipal Stadium.

The series will start with one game at the lower-seeded team (Tarboro) and continue with the final two games at New Bern on Friday and Saturday as voted by league officials earlier this season.

The River Bandits (28-11 overall) won the first half of the season in the Northeastern Division with an 8-4 record in division games played from June 1-23, while the Southpaws (21-13 overall) claimed the second half with a 9-2 division record in games played July 1-23 and will host the final two games based on divisional winning percentage (New Bern .636, Tarboro .609).
