    Six for six.

That’s how many participants - individual or quartet - the Teague boys track and field program had at the Districts 19/20-3A Area Meet last Friday in McGregor. Six is the same number of participants that the Lions will have at this weekend’s Region III-Class 3A Meet at Midway High School in Waco.

Teague earned one first place and five third place finishes at last week’s area meet. The top four finishes in each event advanced to the region meet.

The necks of Kemauri Evans, J’Kybryen Harris and Jehmel Rice were likely strained by the number of medals that they earned. Rice earned a quartet of bronze medals, while Evans earned three bronze, and Harris picked up two bronze and the lone gold medal.

Harris earned his gold medal in the triple jump with a school record leap of 45 feet. Rice was third in the event.

Evans and Rice finished third in the 100 and 200 meter runs, respectively. Evans, Harris and Rice each ran legs on the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays as well.

The trio ran with Bryce Bates in the 4x100, and Zak Leija in the 4x200. Both relays finished third.
