Plenty Fire burns 75 acres during grueling heat in Santa Clarita
Firefighters rushed to the Santa Clarita Valley after a brush fire burned about 75 acres. The Los Angeles County Fire Department did not issue any evacuations immediately after the Plenty Fire started. As of 4:30 p.m., homes were not threatened. The department requested an ambulance as a precaution after one of the crew members felt weak and dizzy. Paramedics took two firefighters due to the punishing heat.At the time of the fire, it was more than 100 degrees in Santa Clarita.
Los Angeles impounded more than 500 vehicles from homeless living in their cars
(The Center Square) - Over a two-year period, the city of Los Angeles impounded 555 vehicles that homeless people were living in according to a city report. The city gave housing to 186. The city encountered 2,503 vehicle dwellings and impounded about 1 out of every 4.5 vehicles that were inhabited by homeless people.
