OFFICIALS RESPOND TO TRIBAL PURCHASE OF DOWNTOWN ROSEBURG PROPERTIES
Local officials have responded to the recent purchase of two downtown Roseburg properties by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. June 21st, the Tribe confirmed that it purchased the former Rite Aid store on Southeast Jackson Street and the adjacent former Safeway property on Southeast Rose Street.

PRESCRIBED PASTURE BURN SCHEDULED THROUGH WEDNESDAY
A prescribed pasture burn is tentatively scheduled through Wednesday, near the intersection of Driver Valley Road and Old Pioneer Road in the Oakland area. Douglas Forest Protective Association Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said a blanket permit has been issued. Pope said smoke may be visible in the area from 10:00 a.m. until the end of each day.

CITY BUILDINGS TO CLOSE THURSDAY FOR FOURTH OF JULY
City of Roseburg Buildings will be closed this Thursday in observance of the Fourth of July Independence Day holiday. A city release said means that Roseburg City Hall, the Public Safety Center, Roseburg Public Library and other city buildings will not be open to the public. Police and firefighters will continue to provide public safety throughout the holiday.
