    Power restoration efforts underway after severe weather

    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update : As of 12:30 p.m. the Duke Energy outage map is reporting just 281 customers in the Terre Haute area remaining without power following this round of severe weather.


    Original : Strong storms blew through the area early Tuesday morning, knocking out power to more than 1,000 Duke Energy customers.

    According to Vigo County Dispatch, power was knocked out at two intersections on 7th Street (at Wabash Ave. and Cherry St.). Officials are urging drivers to treat those intersections at four-way stops.

    As of 8:00 a.m., a little more than 900 customers were still without power. Crews are working to get power restored. It’s unclear how long it will take to get power restored to all of the impacted customers.
