Commission makes personnel decisions, handles area matters

Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings May 15 – 16.

Members:

• Met with Bobby McCleod to discuss the IT needs of Texas County.
• Approved a liquor license for April Aubuchon, Clines Gas Hole, LLC dba The Gas Hole.
• Appointed John Thobe as Pierce Township Clerk.
• Approved a Sherrill Township contract.
• Discussed increasing juror pay. The commission will contact the prosecutor to get more information.
• Reviewed and acknowledged the transfer of Kyle Gross from the jail to the maintenance department effective May 29.
• Contacted Duncan Smith and Alberta Pummill regarding establishing a cemetery.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

• Scott Lindsey, sheriff, on inmate medical bills and a Justice Center dishwasher replacement. Lindsey informed the commission that Deputy Ty Albrecht will be the county’s drug task force employee.
