With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Cetin Hekimoglu brings both outpatient and inpatient settings to Andalusia and Covington County through his practice, Pinnacle Health.

Affectionately known as Dr. H, he graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Prior to moving to Andalusia, he practiced in Wisconsin, Chicago, and most recently Tennessee.

“A close friend of mine who practices in Andalusia informed me about a need in this community. I have been visiting him here over the years and have come to really enjoy this community,” Dr. H said. “Being a doctor is a highly responsible position where I will be able to help people live longer and healthier lives through better choices they make.”

As a doctor of internal medicine, Dr. H said that his priority is to provide the best care he can to his patients.

“I am a hard-working, conscientious, and professional doctor who always puts the needs of my patients at the forefront of everything I do. I believe my experience as a doctor has shown me the importance of self-improvement and that there is always more knowledge to gain. I am determined to continue advancing my medical skills and believe I can be a valuable asset to this community,” he said.

Originally from the Republic of Turkiye in Europe, he was drawn to medicine through his upbringing and personal circumstances.

“I have always been passionate about learning everything I can about the human body. I have multiple family members in the medical field and used to spend hours at my aunt’s practice looking at models of organs and old medical journals. Later, when I took on the role of doctor, this learning seemed second nature to me,” Dr. H said.

One of his goals as a local physician in the community is to establish relationships with his patients.

“I am dedicated to providing high quality patient care and am passionate about building a strong doctor-patient relationship. I recognize the importance of actively listening to patients, which allows me to get a better understanding of their concerns, needs and goals. In addition, I do try to simplify the information being given, use clear communication, and try to use jargon-free language as much as possible,” he said.

D r. H added that communication is important when dealing with the health and concerns of patients.

“I understand that medical procedures and diagnosis often sound like another language to patients, and I strive to speak in terms that my patients will understand better. I do spend as much time as needed with each patient. While I do understand there is a schedule to keep and I do my best to limit my interactions when patients are waiting, I want to give my full attention to each patient I see.”

In an ever-changing world of medicine, he believes it is important to stay updated on innovations and studies.

“I believe to be a successful physician, it is my responsibility to stay current about the recent developments and keep improving my skills. I don’t believe we ever stop learning as doctors. I continue to develop myself professionally to ensure that I stay at the forefront of the medical profession. It is my commitment to remain knowledgeable to help me deliver the best possible care for my patients,” Dr. H said.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. H’s interests include skiing, hiking, and exploring natural locations.

“In a usual week, I will go for an hour-long walk daily if possible. I find this activity clears my mind and relaxes me, as well as keeping me physically fit,” he said.
