    Animal abuse

    • Possible animal abuse was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 8:40 a.m. on Aug. 30.

    Suspicious circumstances

    • Just after noon on Aug. 30, a woman reported finding an Apple AirTag stuck to the passenger seat of her vehicle in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue the day prior.

    • A citizen asked officers to check on a girl at a playground in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at approximately 1:35 a.m. on Aug. 31. The citizen said “she believed the girl is being raped.”

    • A vehicle was seen driving on a soccer field in the 1500 block of Rice Road just after 12:45 p.m. on Aug. 31.

    • Three teenagers were reportedly trying to open door handles on cars in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just after 12:25 a.m. on Sept. 1.

    • Two male subjects were reportedly using needles at a business in the 1500 block of Rice Road at 3:25 p.m. on Sept. 1. One of the subjects was passed out on the ground.

    • A possible road rage incident involving a driver who followed the reporting party from Centralia to the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way in Chehalis was reported just after 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 2.The other driver confronted the reporting party for cutting him off by turning the wrong way from a turn lane in Centralia. He left when the reporting party said she would call the police.

    • A group of people in masks were reportedly looking into someone’s car in the 200 block of West Main Street at approximately 4:50 a.m. on Sept. 3 while the driver was in the vehicle. They reportedly knocked on the window, but the driver did not answer.

    • A man who was wearing a bandana over his face and carrying a coat hanger was moved along from the 300 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue just after 7:50 p.m. on Sept. 3.

    • A man was seen looking through dumpsters in the 100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 8:05 p.m. on Sept. 3.

    Vehicle accidents

    • A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1:25 p.m. on Aug. 30.

    • A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Aug. 30.

    • A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of state Route 6 and Southwest Riverside Drive at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Aug. 31.

    Criminal trespass

    • Five homeless people were reportedly trespassing on property in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 30.

    • A criminal trespass was reported in the 600 block of West Main Street just after 3:10 a.m. on Aug. 31.

    • A homeless man reportedly trespassed at a building in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place just after 4:35 a.m. on Aug. 31.

    • A homeless man reportedly left his possessions on a private lawn in the 1000 block of Northwest Prindle Street at approximately 4 p.m. on Sept. 1. The man left when the homeowner’s son “threatened to set their pitbull on him,” according to the Chehalis Police Department.

    • A man who reportedly tried to get inside the Yard Bird figure in the 2100 block of North National Avenue at approximately 4:05 p.m. on Sept. 2 was trespassed from the property.

    • Subjects who were reportedly “persistent” in trying to sell a hot tub to a resident in the 800 block of Northwest Ohio Avenue just after 4:55 p.m. on Sept. 2 were trespassed from the resident’s property.

    • A criminal trespass was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 8:50 p.m. on Sept. 2.

    • A criminal trespass reported in the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at 8:55 a.m. on Sept. 3 is under investigation.

    • Four homeless people were trespassed from a property in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 10:35 a.m. on Sept. 3.

    Impersonation

    • Just after 1:40 p.m. on Aug. 30, a woman in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street reported someone was using her name, number and hometown “to advertise sexual acts” on Facebook.

    Theft

    • A man was arrested for shoplifting from a business he was trespassed from in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 30.

    • A juvenile reportedly stole a bike from the 400 block of Southwest Parkland Road between 3 and 6:05 p.m. on Aug. 30.

    • A black 1986 Harley was reported stolen from the 100 block of Southwest Lewis Street at approximately 8:55 a.m. on Sept. 1.

    • At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 2, a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported someone stole from the business five times last year.

    • A subject was cited for shoplifting from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.

    Disorderly conduct

    • A customer was reportedly screaming and yelling at an employee who wouldn’t “trade” her money at a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at approximately 4:35 p.m. on Aug. 30.

    • A man was reportedly screaming at vehicles and standing in the middle of the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 31.

    • A disorderly male customer was reportedly screaming at an employee for a refund at a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at 7:35 p.m. on Sept. 1.

    Harassment

    • Just after 10:25 a.m. on Aug. 31, a citizen reported ongoing harassment from a neighbor in the 1900 block of Southwest Snively Avenue.

    Assault

    • A subject was arrested for fourth-degree assault at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 31. The male suspect allegedly punched a female passenger in his vehicle. The reporting party followed the vehicle until officers arrived.

    • A civilian reportedly assaulted a Green Hill School security employee in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 11:20 a.m. on Sept. 1 when asked to leave the property with her two children.

    Witness intimidation

    • A case of witness intimidation was reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 11:35 a.m. on Sept. 1.

    Juvenile problem

    • A “juvenile problem” reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 11:35 a.m. on Sept. 1 is under investigation.

    Reckless burning

    • A subject was cited for reckless burning in the 2500 block of North National Avenue at 6 p.m. on Sept. 1.

    Lost child

    • An employee at a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported a child could not find their mother just before 9:25 p.m. on Sept. 2. The mother was found while the officer was still on the call and “all is well,” a dispatcher reported.

    Disputes

    • A verbal dispute was reported in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 2.

    • A verbal dispute was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 12:25 p.m. on Sept. 3.

    • A “family disturbance/dispute” reported in the 100 block of Southwest William Avenue just before 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 3 is under investigation.

    Malicious mischief

    • A malicious mischief reported in the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue just before 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 3 is under investigation.

    Burglary

    • A man was arrested for trying to break into outdoor freezers in the 400 block of Northwest Quincy Place just after 12:35 a.m. on Sept. 4.

    CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

    Vehicle accidents

    • A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of South Yew and West Walnut streets at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Sept. 2.

    • A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison and Reynolds avenues just after 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 2.

    • A two-vehicle collision was reported in the 700 block of North Pearl Street just after 11:35 p.m. on Sept. 3. The at-fault driver suffered a medical emergency at the time of the crash and was taken to the hospital for care.

    Assault

    • A subject was cited for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence in the 1400 block of Jensen Avenue just after 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 2.

    • A 47-year-old Rochester man was arrested for assaulting staff at a hospital in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 2.

    Theft

    • A motorhome was reported stolen out of a parking lot in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue just after 10:40 p.m. on Sept. 2.

    • A theft of soda and a case of water that occurred in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue on Aug. 30 was reported just after 9:40 a.m. on Sept. 3.

    Malicious mischief

    • Damage to a residential window in the 300 block of South Yew Street just after 8:25 a.m. on Sept. 3. Officers searched the residence at the homeowners’ request but found no one inside.

    • Damage to security cameras at a residence in the 200 block of East Van Buren Sreet was reported at 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 3.

    Drug violations

    • A 51-year-old Centralia man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for delivery of a controlled substance after a detective in plain clothes saw him smoke meth from a pipe then hand the pipe to a woman, who also smoked the pipe, in the 100 block of South Silver Street just after 3:25 p.m. on Sept. 3. The woman, 57, of Centralia, was cited for possession of meth. Officers reportedly located a pipe containing suspected meth on the man’s person at the time of his arrest and found a baggie of meth within the woman’s property.

    Criminal trespass

    • A homeless Centralia woman who reportedly defecated on a property in the 200 block of West Main Street was trespassed from the property just after 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 3.

    • A man who was reportedly “bothering customers” at a business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 3:05 a.m. on Sept. 4 was trespassed from the business at an employee’s request.

    DUI

    • A 20-year-old Rochester man was arrested for DUI in the 900 block of Johnson Road just after 5:55 p.m. on Sept. 3 after he was involved in a collision while under the influence of drugs.

    FIRE AND EMS CALLS

    • Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 57 illness-related calls, five injury-related calls, four fire-related calls, five non-emergency service calls, six vehicle accidents, one 911 hangup, one overdose and five other calls.

    JAIL STATISTICS

    • As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 158 inmates, including 145 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 117 were reported male and 28 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

    • As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 13 inmates, including four booked by the Centralia Police Department, three booked by the state Department of Corrections, three booked by the Lummi Nation, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court, one booked by the City of Elma and one booked by the Skokomish Tribe.
