CLEMSON – As Clemson continues fall camp, graduate punter Aidan Swanson spoke with the media at Memorial Stadium following practice on Monday.

–Being a graduate on this team, the two-year starter brings lots of experience to the table for Clemson. Having a young specialist’s group, Swanson has stepped into a leadership position. He said, “I know I can give them advice on kicking as well as trying to pour into them as much as I can.”

–Clemson’s recent hire of former NFL punter Ryan Allen has allowed Swanson to learn from a fellow lefty like himself. Swanson said Allen has focused on helping him with both technique and the mental aspects of punting.

–After a reflection of last season, Swanson said he has been working on “inside the 20 punts and good direction…being consistent and having a good mentality.” To him, he can do all the physical aspects in his sleep, but now with a strong mindset.

–Following the first scrimmage on Saturday, Swanson was impressed with the competition levels from the team. He said, “All the upperclassmen are doing a great job with their segment groups, I’ve got nothing but praise for the guys.”

The Tigers will have their second scrimmage of fall camp on Thursday.
