A former Clemson star receiver is reportedly being released by this NFL team.

The Kansas City Chiefs are releasing Justyn Ross, per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.

Once seen as a first-round talent, Ross went undrafted due to injury concerns coming out of Clemson and ended up signing with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2022 before missing all of the 2022 season while on injured reserve with a foot injury.

Last season, the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder recorded six receptions for 53 yards in 10 regular season games.

Ross finished his Clemson career (2018-21) having recorded 158 passes for 2,379 yards with 20 touchdowns across 39 career games (24 starts). The former five-star prospect from Phenix City, Ala., concluded his time at Clemson ranked tied for fifth in school history in career receiving touchdowns, 10th in career receiving yards and 11th in career receptions.

Ross, as well as former Clemson receiver Cornell Powell, earned their second Super Bowl championship ring in the last two seasons when the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22, in overtime in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on February 11, 2024.

A limited number of signed footballs from Clemson’s 2022 class are still available.  Get yours while supplies last!  Visit Clemson Variety & Frame or purchase online!
