These North Texas cities are being evaluated for 'aerial gondala' transportation system
DALLAS — Swyft Cities, in partnership with local transportation officials, is evaluating five potential cities to host its "elevated cable and rail system." Five North Texas cities - Dallas, Plano, Arlington, Frisco and DeSoto - have expressed interest in being home to the alternative public transportation. The transportation system, known as Whoosh, uses electric vehicles that look like aerial gondolas but use technology to move independently on an aerial network of cables and rails, according to a press release from Swyft Cities.

City of Denton moves to Level 3 risk level after mosquitos test positive for West Nile virus
DENTON, Texas — The City of Denton has confirmed the presence of West Nile virus in mosquitoes trapped at North Lakes Park on Bonnie Brae and Westgate at I-35N. The mosquitoes were collected this week, and at least one mosquito from each trap tested positive for West Nile virus, according to a press release from the City of Denton. As a result, Denton will move from a risk level 2 to a risk level 3, indicating a public health concern.
