    Local arts at the forefront of Upper Arlington's Labor Day Arts Festival

    Following a 58-year-old tradition, the city of Upper Arlington will host its annual Labor Day Arts Festival on Monday, Sept. 2. This year, the celebration of local art and artists will feature over 120 artists exhibiting and selling their work across several mediums like photography, painting, jewelry and sculpture.

    When and where is it?

    The festival will take place on Monday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Northam Park, 2850 Tremont Road in Upper Arlington. Admission is free for all.

    What's the parking situation?

    There will be street parking available all throughout the neighborhood. Alternatively, visitors may park at the Wellington School, 3650 Reed Road, and hitch a ride to the festival with provided shuttles, which run every 15 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Accessible and handicap parking will be reserved at the Tremont Center, at the lot across from the park.

    For bikers, free valet service is provided near the library on Tremont Road.

    The nearest COTA stop is for Bus Line 3 on Northwest Boulevard and Northam Road.

    Will there be any road closures?

    Tremont Road between Ridgeview and Northam roads will be closed for the festival.

    What is there to do at the festival?

    In addition to taking in the sights and sensations of artists' works, visitors can also enjoy free arts and crafts activities hosted by local organizations like the Upper Arlington Community Foundation , Columbus Fashion Academy and Learning Never Ends.

    Visitors will have the chance to create felted butterflies, contribute to a community mural, make an origami mobile, learn about the impacts of fast fashion through a puppet show, create no-sew bags, jewelry and more.

    Next to the arts activities section, several local community organizations and nonprofits will set up shop to share their efforts and purposes.

    Will there be performances?

    There will be three different performance locations around the festival grounds: a main stage, a reading garden stage inside the Tremont Road library branch and street performances. The main stage will hold performances from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the reading garden stage from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and street performances from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

    The lineup of musicians span across a diversity of genres, from Celtic and Irish music to West African drum and dance music, to soul and blues.

    What are the food options?
