    Springs at Ashby in Collierville: What's next for premium apartment home development?

    Today’s "Checking in on ..." looks at the Springs at Ashby project in Collierville.

    The Springs at Ashby is a gated, garden-style community offering 196 premium apartment homes with private ground-level entrances and attached garage options located east of Maynard Way and north of Poplar Avenue. Outdoor amenities include a resort-style pool, outdoor barbecue area and a 24-hour fitness center. The project also has pet-friendly facilities including an on-site pet playground and pet spa area.

    The project was first proposed in 2020 and approved by the Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen in spring 2023.

    The developer behind the project is Continental Properties. Joe Bagby, executive vice president and chief experience officer for Continental Properties, told The Commercial Appeal that Continental had been looking at the Collierville area for seven years. He said Continental found Collierville to be an attractive community because it consists of great schools, shopping, dining and entertainment options.

    FedEx, the area’s largest employer, is located 4 miles west of the project. The development is also close to Collierville’s retail hub with Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, Kroger and other major retailers nearby.

    What type of apartments does Springs at Ashby include?

    The development is part of the new Ashby mixed-use development and will include eight two-story buildings, Bagby said.

    “We’ve thoughtfully designed our studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments to offer a blend of luxury and convenience, with features like modern open concept layouts, designer finishes, hardwood-style flooring, granite kitchen islands and stainless-steel appliances,” he said.

    Bagby said Springs at Ashby will also offer market-rate apartments, from studio to three-bedroom options designed to cater to residents' unique lifestyles.

    "With monthly rents commensurate with the market, we are committed to providing homes that people find more appealing than other rental options in the local area," he said. "Alongside our competitive pricing, we take pride in offering high-quality homes, an array of amenities, and a vibrant sense of community that creates an exceptional living experience."

    Where things stand on the development

    Continental Properties has broken ground on the Springs at Ashby project. The company closed on the deal to purchase the land for the project on Jan. 17 and construction then got underway, Bagby said.

    What’s next for Springs at Ashby?

    Move-ins are expected in early 2025, along with the completion of the community clubhouse and first building.
