    4 Kentucky colleges make Forbes' 2024 list of top 500 U.S. colleges. See where they landed

    Forbes has released its annual list of the top 500 colleges in the U.S. , and four Kentucky schools earned a spot.

    The rankings use a set of criterion to measure which schools provide the best educational, financial and career outcomes for all students, according to Forbes' explanation of their methodology .

    Of the four Kentucky schools on the list, two are public and two are private nonprofits.

    Average grant aid: $14,114

    Average debt: $8,420

    Median 10-year salary: $111,700

    University of Louisville

    Type : Public

    Rank: 252nd

    Average grant aid: $12,216

    Average debt: $7,490

    Median 10-year salary: $100,700
