CULLMAN, Ala. – The United Way of Cullman County’s (UWCC) annual Day of Caring will take place Tuesday, Sept. 10. The day brings volunteers together to tackle projects for the nonprofit’s partner agencies.

The partner agencies the UWCC supports are vital resources in the community, serving residents in a variety of ways.

“Day of Caring is an unforgettable, hands-on experience. You have the opportunity to actively improve our community while spending quality time with co-workers and community volunteers,” said UWCC Executive Director Stephanie Childers. “It’s a great way to witness your donations to the United Way Campaign at work in our community.”

Day of Caring 2024 has various projects lined up, including landscaping, painting and interior organizational tasks.

As of press time, the nonprofit still had many open spots for volunteers to make a difference in the community and the lives of its residents.

Seven volunteers are needed at Cullman Regional Hospice for lawn care and ramp repair.

Four volunteers are needed to organize and assist the North Alabama Agriplex.

Ten volunteers are needed at Restoring Women Outreach for landscaping.

Five volunteers are needed at the Cold Springs Elementary School Outdoor Classroom.

“The Day of Caring is a powerful reminder that when we come together as a community, our combined efforts can create a lasting impact. It’s not just about volunteering for a day – it’s about fostering connections, strengthening our bonds and working toward a common goal of making our community a better place for all,” said UWCC Day of Caring Organizer Morgan Dingler.
