Continuous spring snows have helped kept skiing and riding at Arapahoe Basin and the Mary Jane side of Winter Park going well into late-May for winter 2023-24.

And Summit County ski area Arapahoe Basin announced Tuesday it is extending its season at least one more weekend in June.

"With continued great conditions, A-Basin will stay open until at least June 9," Chief Operating Officer at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area Alan Henceroth said on his blog page. "If conditions are still good, we just may go for another weekend."

    Operational details:

    • Open 7 days a week through June 2

    • Closed Monday, June 3 - Thursday, June 6

    • Reopen June 7, 8, and 9 (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)

    • If conditions look good, A-Basin will go for another weekend

"Make sure to check our 'Lift & Terrain Status' webpage before heading up," A-Basin said. "Our patrol updates this daily when they do their weather report, so it is the most up-to-date and accurate information about what we have going on each day."

The last event of the spring skiing season at A-Basin is also Memorial Day weekend.

Festival of the Brewpubs is Sunday and the spring skiing and local beers enjoyment will go hand in hand as the ski area closes out the season with one last shindig.

Even though A-Basin doesn't officially have a pond skimming event, Lake Reveal beneath Lenawee Lift is nearing 'revealing' and if warm temperatures persist, the small alpine lake should start appearing for skiers and riders to skim across during the June days.

Winter Park Resort will ski and ride as long as possible, however, no official closing date has been set yet.
