Mega Millions jackpot rises to $745M. When is the next Texas lottery drawing?

The Mega Millions jackpot is now at $745 million — the seventh largest prize in the game's history — after no ticket matched all numbers on Tuesday, Sept. 3 .

The jackpot has steadily risen since its last winner claimed $552 million on June 4.

Here's what to know about trying your luck for the jackpot and when the next drawing will be:

Next Mega Millions drawing

The next drawing is Friday, Sept. 6, at 9 p.m.MT/10 p.m. CT.

How to play the Mega Millions

To buy a ticket, you'll have to visit your local convenience store, gas station or grocery store. However, in a handful of states, you can purchase tickets online.

To play, you will need to pick six numbers. Five numbers will be white balls ranging from 1 to 70. The gold Mega Ball is one number between 1 and 25.

You can choose the numbers or decide to go the route of "Quick Pick" or an "Easy Pick," the computer will randomly generate the numbers for you.

Players can add the "Megaplier" for $1, which can increase non-grand prize winnings by two, three, four or five times. The Megaplier is drawn before the Mega Millions numbers on Tuesday and Friday.

There are 15 Megapiler balls in all:

• 2X , five balls
• 3X , six balls
• 4X , three balls
• 5X , one ball

Get all six numbers correct, and you claim the Mega Millions jackpot — now $745 million, which translates to a cash option of $366.3 million.

Here are some of the other prizes:

• Five numbers: $1 million.
• Four numbers and the Mega Ball: $10,000
• Four numbers: $500
• Three numbers and the Mega Ball: $200
• Three numbers: $10
• Two numbers and the Mega Ball: $10
• One number and the Mega Ball: $4
• Just the Mega Ball: $2

Winners that add on the Megaplier can increase their earnings.
