Bats often nest in the addicts of residence halls during the summer months, Purdue police Capt. Song Kang said.  Exponent File Photo

PUPD Capt. Song Kang said bats are more common at the beginning of the year. He explained that during the summertime most of the dorm halls are stagnant from not being used and bats often nest in the attics.

Bats can have rabies. If you find a bat inside, leave a door open or window, turn off all lights and calmly wait, according to the Indiana DNR website.
