As its name suggests, this bright yellow and red shack serves up an excellent Maxwell Street polish. They’re slathered with mustard and loaded up with so many caramelized onions no wrapper is safe from turning into an onion juice sponge—and that’s how it should be. They also have solid burgers, pork chop sandwiches, and pizza puffs, but the sausage is the main event. As long as you have a few bills lying around (it’s cash only) and are okay turning your car into a makeshift dining room (it’s take-out only), Maxwell Street will always have your back (it’s open 24/7).
