Flag football star Darrell “Housh” Doucette might have a point in his claim that he is better than Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes .

Doucette has won plenty of fans for his flag football ability with a plethora of clips of him in action going viral on social media. In an interview with TMZ Sports , Doucette boldly argued that he would be a better fit to lead Team USA ’s offense in flag football at the 2028 Olympics .

Flag football will debut at the Los Angeles Games in four years’ time and Doucette will be hoping to land a place in the team. He even argued that he’d be better than Super Bowl -winning QB Mahomes, Doucette said: “At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game,” he said.

“I know, right now, he’s the best in the league. I know he’s more accurate. I know he has all of these intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.”

Doucette continued to explain that NFL players with little experience playing flag football might have a tough time adapting to the game. Flag football forces players to have different play styles and physical demands, as well as a contrasting field shape and team size. “I can only voice upon what I have seen and what I know of myself,” he added.

“They have never played. So, I can easily say I’m better in flag football because they’ve never played. Now, if they take the time and actually put in the work, they should be better than me. They’re in the NFL, they’re elite. But I don’t think the transition would be as quick. I don’t think they would take the game as serious as we do.”

Highlights of Doucette’s went viral on social media. One clip showed the flag football star sliding and turning a defender inside out driving for a touchdown. While the quarterback side of his game showed him unleashing a cannon of a right-arm throw. Clips of a one-handed interception and touchdown-saving tackles leaves his game looking impenetrable.

Mahomes reacted to Doucette’s claims as he quote-tweeted a clip of the flag football star’s comments with a GIF of rapper 50 Cent in a clip where he’s confused about a feud he’s involved in, saying: “What he say f*** me for?”

The Chiefs star previously expressed his interest in competing at the LA Games . “NFL football, American football, has taken to further parts, all the way across the world, with flag football coming to the Olympics,” he said at the time, per Olympics.com. “I think it’s really cool because football is a great game that has given me so much and I want to make sure everyone gets the same experience that I got growing up.

“I definitely want to, but I’ve seen some of those guys play the flag football and they’re a little faster than I am. I know there’s not, like, linemen blocking for you. I’ll be 31, 32 years old, so if I can still move around then, I’m going to try to get out there and throw the football around maybe in LA. Just don’t tell Coach [Andy] Reid or [Brett] Veach or anybody.”
