    SW Florida HS roundup Aug. 26-31: The week's cross country, golf, volleyball, swimming results

    WEDNESDAY

    Volleyball

    Marco Island 3, Bishop Verot 1 : The Rays (6-2) beat the Vikings (5-2) 25-27, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20. Marco's Medney Garraux had 36 kills, 20 digs, and 4 aces. Rylee Howard added 12 kills, 2 aces, and 2 blocks, Madison Stolinas had 3 kills, 29 assists, 16 digs, and 3 aces and Sophie Ogdin had 38 digs, 6 assists, and an ace.

    Oasis 3, Cape Coral 0: Oasis swept the Seahawks 25-17, 25-22, 25-9. Ellye Henkle hit .400 on the night, while Kaylie Berge added 6 digs. All the Sharks got into the game and contributed to the win.

    St. John Neumann 3, Lely 1: The Celtics won 25-17, 17-25, 25-11, 25-6.

    TUESDAY

    Volleyball

    Estero 3, Fort Myers 0: For the first time in the MaxPreps era, the Wildcats beat the Green Wave. Kassia Perkins had 16 kills for Estero, while Sofia King added 20 assists and 6 kills.

    Marco Island 3, Donahue Catholic 0 : The Rays defeated the Shamrocks 25-9, 25-12, 25-9. Medney Garraux led Marco Island with 21 kills, 7 digs, and 4 aces. Madison Stolinas chipped in with 22 assists, 3 kills, 6 digs, and 6 aces.

    Community School 3, Mason Classical 0: The Seahawks grabbed their first win of 2024 with a 25-18, 25-10, 25-7 win over the Paladins.

    Canterbury 3, Babcock 0: The Cougars stayed unbeaten, beating the Trailblazers 25-18, 25-18, 25-8.

    Barron Collier 3, Aubrey Rogers 0: The Cougars swept the Patriots, 25-22, 25-15, 25-17. Ava Wall had 6 kills and 20 digs in the loss, while Emily Hyrczyk led Aubrey Rogers with 8 kills.

    Oasis 3, North Fort Myers 0 : Jordan Baksh and Vanessa Moriarty combined for 24 kills in the win over the Red Knights while Sarah Mikulus held down the defense with 21 digs.

    SFCA 3, Sarasota Christian 1 : The King's won 21-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-12. Freshman Gigi Noah led the King's attack with 11 kills. Freshman Journey Cook led the King's defense with 5 total blocks. Senior Emily Martinez tallied 6 aces.

    Ida Baker 3, Gateway 0 : Ida Baker won 25-15, 25-17, 25-23. Hannah Fassold had 8 digs for Gateway.

    Community School 155, First Baptist 168: The Seahawks beat the Lions in a team effort, led by 38s from Reilly Kirwin and Sydney Young, along with a 39 from Alayna Freidt. First Baptist’s Eva Lye led all players with a low score of 35.

    Boys Golf

    Fort Myers 172, North FM 192, Island coast 213: Sam McDonald shot 2-under to lead Fort Myers.

    Evangelical Christian 163, South Fort Myers 25, Bonita Springs 15: Winners for ECS were Emma Sapp, 200 free; Kelsey Villaflor, 200 IM and 100 fly; Lilly Sapp, 100 free; Leah Chappell, 500 free; Ava Laffey, 100 back; Reagan Mendoza, 100 breast.

    Lehigh 3, Dunbar 2: Top bowler for Dunbar was Jeysly De Paz.

    Estero d. Oasis: For Oasis, Meesa Neujahr rolled a 170 and Ellie Broadley had a 116.

    MONDAY

    Volleyball

    Oasis 3, Island Coast 0: Oasis swept Island Coast at home 25-11, 25-6, 25-11. Gigi Diecidue got to play front row for the first time and had 4 kills, while Ellye Henkle added 8 aces.

    Moore Haven 3, Evangelical Christian 0: The Sentinels lost to Moore Haven in straight sets, 25-18, 26-24, 25-18 Monday night. Ashlyn Anderson and Emma Trojanowski each had 6 kills for ECS. Autumn Worley added 3 blocks.
