Looking for an Ollie Gordon injury update? Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State football respond

STILLWATER — As Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II walked out of the Sherman Smith Training Center following the Cowboys ’ practice Thursday morning, he shouted in the direction of Mike Gundy , while the coach spoke to the media.

Gordon’s timing was nearly perfect, catching everyone’s attention just moments after Gundy had been asked about the rampant — and in most cases, wildly inaccurate — social media rumors about Gordon suffering a serious injury earlier in the week.

“I would never answer on any injuries,” Gundy said when asked about the rumors of Gordon’s health. “Nobody knows about any injuries in the camp but me.”

No signs of any noteworthy injury to Gordon have been substantiated.

Though the workout was closed to the media as usual on Thursday, Gordon was walking on his own two legs, wearing pads and his typical orange practice jersey — not the green non-contact jersey injured players are regularly given to protect them in practice — as he left the indoor facility.

Gordon is the centerpiece of an exciting Cowboy offense, thanks to his superb sophomore season. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound running back produced 1,732 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, and will once again be the focal point of a group that returns 10 starters this fall.
