Rosarian Academy celebrated the 41 members of the Class of 2024 with two events Thursday.

The day began for the eighth-graders with a baccalaureate Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Palm Beach, and ended with the 4 p.m. graduation ceremony in the theater at the West Palm Beach school.

The Rev. Brian King, episcopal secretary to Bishop Gerald Barbarito, celebrated the Mass, which was followed by refreshments and photos in the St. Edward Parish Hall.

Palm Beach Mayor Danielle Hickox Moore, Rosarian Academy Class of 1981, gave the commencement address. Moore's daughter, Alexandra, is in the Class of 2024, following her sister Leslie (Class of 2023) in continuing the family's Rosarian tradition.

Head of School Dr. Linda Trethewey led the ceremony as students and faculty filed into the theater.

In her address, Moore noted how much the school had changed.

"When I was here it was all girls, grade six through 12, and no boys," she said.

Moore also recalled when she attended Rosarian one of the nuns told her she would be an excellent candidate to take vows to become a Dominican sister.

"It did not work out," Moore said.
