Five silk screen prints of a painting from famed Irish actor Pierce Brosnan depicting the late chef-documentarian Anthony Bourdain are now on display at Jennifer Balcos Gallery in Palm Beach.

The prints join Brosnan's collection of five paintings , including the original "Anthony Bourdain" painting, at the gallery, 292 S. County Road.

Gallery owner Jennifer Balcos said the gallery first connected with Brosnan in 2021, when he became a regular patron at her Atlanta location while in town for a film.

"He spent a lot of time at my gallery and that's how I learned of his talent, and we just stayed in touch," she said.

Though best known for his films, including his time as the titular character in the James Bond series, Brosnan has often called art his first love .

After all, it was dreams of becoming a painter that fueled a 16-year-old Brosnan’s trek from his native Ireland to London, according to a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair . There he discovered acting, and painting took a back seat until 1987, when his late wife, Cassandra Harris, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Brosnan credits painting with helping him cope with the pain and hardship of Harris' battle with cancer.

The portrait of Bourdain, who was his longtime friend, is deeply personal, Brosnan has said.

"On the morning that I learned Anthony Bourdain had died I was crushed. The only way to deal with this loss was to paint his portrait. I loved his passion for life, for food, for travel and for people. Anthony was an inspiration to all and a wordsmith with a perfect voice and rhythm that still echoes in my heart. He will be missed,” Brosnan said in a prepared statement.

In 2023, Brosnan collaborated with Los Angeles-based Wranch Studios & Da-Ta Studio to create 100 silk screen prints of the portrait. Each has been hand-signed and numbered by Brosnan.

The prints are unique in their own right, Balcos told the Daily News. Normally, prints are composed of around five colors, but Brosnan's prints use nearly 10 colors in the printing process.

According to the gallery's website, the five prints will remain on display until they are sold. They are priced at $5,000, and include a certificate of authenticity.
