Federal Dam crash takes life of local man

A 75-year-old Federal Dam man is dead as a result of a one-vehicle crash the morning of July 31.

Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk reports that at 10:38 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a report of a motor vehicle crash on County Road 73 in Gould Township in rural Federal Dam. Deputies and responders arrived and learned that a 2000 GMC Denali had left the roadway, striking a tree.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was extricated and lifesaving efforts were performed on scene and at a nearby landing zone. The victim, Randall Linderholm was pronounced deceased.

Assisting at the scene was the Federal Dam Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care.
