The Beauty Insider Program is a free rewards system for shoppers in the US and Canada that lets them earn points on all of their purchases.

By gaining enough points, customers can redeem them for rewards, which are typically deluxe product samples, bundles, or experiences.

Shoppers can store and access their points in the “beauty bank,” according to the Sephora website .

However, some shoppers have slammed the retailer for the points system, saying that it’s hard to accrue points in return for rewards.

One shopper revealed she spent hundreds at her local store but only bought four things.

“I know we used to it and all but somebody really gotta do something about these prices,” wrote X user Mell.

    “Andddd their points system sucks.”

Another shopper had a similar story, saying that she had only three items in her cart with a total of $120.

A third wrote : “The way two things in Sephora is $300.”

A woman named Simone went on a multi-tweet rant about Sephora and Ulta , saying they aren’t letting customers leave with things.

“The way I have to argue with people to just be able to pat and leave without signing up for something extra,” she wrote.

She shared an incident at Sephora in June claiming that the employees were “confused” that she wasn’t signed up for their points system.

“I was asked if I wanted to sign up and said no,” wrote Simone.

“They said I’d lose these ‘points’ and I was okay with it.”

According to Simone, the workers kept asking her if anyone could use the points she had earned with her purchase but said that she just wanted to purchase her items and leave.

The Beauty Insider Program is a free rewards program offered by Sephora that allows shoppers to earn points based on purchases they make

For every US or Canadian dollar a shopper spends, members will earn one Beauty Insider point.

Bonus points can be earned from time to time through bonus point events.

There are different tiers in the program: Very Important Beauty Insider and Rouge Status.

To achieve VIB status, members have to spend $350 in a calendar year on Sephora merchandise.

To reach Rogue status, members have to spend $1,000 in a calendar year.

Points can be redeemed to earn rewards such as deluxe product samples or experiences based on the corresponding number of accrued points from a shopper’s Beauty Bank.

VIB and Rouge members have access to exclusive rewards such as full-size products and Rogue members have access to a Rogue Reward valued at $100.

“Why did the cashier from the next register over try to shame me about it?”

She said that nobody at her store tried to sell her what was actually available in the store.

“They just acted confused by the fact that I didn’t already have it and didn’t want it or care about it,” wrote Simone.

“Thankfully, I was not alone that day I would’ve had TIME.”
