NFL fans spot ‘terrifying’ Patrick Mahomes moment in training camp as QB finds Xavier Worthy with insane deep play

NFL fans are already in awe of a new offensive connection on the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of this season.

A video from the Chiefs practice on Sunday has surfaced on social media .

In the clip , newly drafted wide receiver Xavier Worthy can be seen running past defenders wide-open.

Patrick Mahomes spots Worthy and connects with him on a deep pass and he catches it and runs into the endzone to a loud applause from fans.

Fans have flocked to the clip to weigh in after watching the duo on offense.

“He [Worthy] might actually cook this year,” claimed one fan.

“Complete Domination,” raved a second.

“Worthy is going to cook a lot of DBs this season,” said a third.

“Terrifying combo of Mahomes and Worthy, they are going to put the league on notice,” wrote a fourth to X.

“Yea them boys might 3 peat,” a fifth fan said.

Not everyone praised the connection though as some fans believed the defense wasn’t trying on the play.

“Yeah cuz that safety definitely wasn’t jogging for the final 2-3 seconds of the play,” joked one fan.

A second fan said the defenders were running at half-speed and gave up on the play.

“Honestly this is PRACTICE,” raged a third.

The Chiefs selected the wideout 28th overall in this year’s NFL Draft after he broke the combine 40-yard dash record.

Worthy played for the Texas Longhorns for three years during college and posted impressive statistics.

The Texas product racked up 2,755 receiving yards and caught 26 touchdowns in 39 games.

Former first-round draft pick Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has also been brought in on a one-year deal.

Brown and Worthy join second-year wideout Rashee Rice, who set an NFL record in postseason receptions from a rookie with 26.

That gives Mahomes far better receiver room than he has enjoyed since Tyreek Hill joined the Miami Dolphins in 2022.

During a recent press conference, Mahomes praised the new-look group .

“What impressed me so much about Hollywood is everybody told me he was a fast guy but nobody told me how much he can actually do on the football field. And you can see it,” he said.

“I mean he can run those over the middle routes. He can run really good routes and he can run deep, as well as the other receivers, you can just see the speed that we have and how it’s opening up everybody.

“And then even seeing Rashee and how he’s kind of taken that next step.

“I mean it’s a great group so I’m excited for their future because I mean the sky is the limit.”
