    JAHMYR Gibbs is an American football star who plays for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League.

    Who is Jahmyr Gibbs?

    Jahmyr Gibbs was born on March 20, 2002.

    He was raised in Dalton, Georgia , and went to Dalton High School.

    Jahmyr played college football at Georgia Tech before moving to the University of Alabama, where he starred for the Crimson Tide squad.

    He finished the 2022 season with 151 carries for 926 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

    He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft.

    In his first NFL season, Jahmyr was named in the All-Rookie Team and voted to the Pro Bowl.

    Jahmyr is an explosive dual-threat running back blessed with speed, power, and athleticism.

    And the talented Georgia native has been turning heads at the Lions ‘ summer training camp.

    A threat in the air as well as on the ground, Gibbs believes his football intelligence was honed from an early age on a popular video game.

    The star spent lots of time playing Madden NFL which is an American football sports video game series.

    Asked by Brad Galli of WXYZ-TV where his football “mind” comes from, Gibbs replied: “[From] a lot [of places]. Most of it’s Madden.

    “Madden got me right from a young age. I’ve been playing it for a while.

    “Obviously my coaches, they did a good job with me too! But most of it is Madden.”

    While Gibbs explained how the NFL game had helped him build up his football intelligence.

    What injury did Jahmyr Gibbs sustain during football practice?

    Jahmyr sustained a hamstring injury during practice on August 11 2024, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

    Gibbs was being checked for a leg injury after leaving the session early but it was unclear on which play he was injured.

    Prior to his injury, he told ESPN he has a goal of becoming the fourth player in NFL history to record 1,000 yards receiving and 1,000 yards rushing in the same season, joining Christian McCaffrey , Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig.

    “A lot of great receiving backs have done that,” Gibbs told ESPN. “Christian McCaffrey’s done that.

    “AK [Alvin Kamara] has been close. Marshall Faulk has done it. I’d like to be in that category. It’s only a certain number that’s done it.”

    Detroit’s first-round rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold also left practice early after being assessed for an upper body injury.

    And fellow rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr was checked for an ankle injury.
