LINKIN Park has fans confused as they shared a countdown to a mystery announcement on social media.
The band posted a short clip on X , teasing their upcoming big news.
It showed a black screen and the numbers 100:00:00, counting down in white.
The post didn’t explain further in their caption but included a link to their website.
Fans immediately raced to the comments to question what the highly anticipated announcement could be.
“New album on the way??” one speculated, as another wondered, “What does this mean?”
“What are you cooking?” a third asked.
Others theorized that the band is getting a new member.
“2025 tour dates, and revealing who will be singing Chester’s parts?” someone suggested.
“Is Linkin Park coming back with a new singer?” proposed another.
Linkin Park went on an indefinite hiatus in July 2017 after the death of their lead singer, Chester Bennington .
They have not toured since, though they hinted the band might return to the stage earlier this year when they teased a new song, Friendly Fire.
It hasn’t been revealed when the track will be released.
The group rose to fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, in 2000.
They went on to produce major hits such as In the End, What I’ve Done, and Numb.
Linkin Park's Notable Albums
Linkin Park was among the most popular rock bands of the '90s and 2000s. They took a break from recording new music and performing when their lead singer, Chester Bennington, died in 2017. Here's a list of their most notable albums:
Hybrid Theory (2000)
Reanimation (2002)
Meteora (2003)
Live in Texas (2003)
Minutes to Midnight (2007)
In April, a source close to the band told Billboard that Linkin Park was considering getting back together.
There’s reportedly been discussions of a possible reunion tour next year and hiring a female vocalist to succeed Chester .
Rumors circulated that Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee was in the running for the gig, but the singer shot down the chatter.
During an April appearance on IHeartRadio Canada, Amy revealed that the band hadn’t contacted her about potentially joining the group, but she wasn’t opposed to the idea.
“That’s awesome,” the Bring Me To Life singer said. “They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part-time.”
