Griffin III, 34, signed a multi-year contract with ESPN in 2021 and was a regular on Monday Night Countdown.

ESPN announced last month the former quarterback had been replaced by recently retired ex- Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce on the show.

And on August 15, he was unexpectedly fired from his role at the sports network.

“I love football, but I loved the experience I had at ESPN more than anything,” Griffin told The Jim Rome Show on Monday.

“Getting the opportunity to be on Monday Night Countdown with the legendary broadcast crew of Suzy Kolber, Steve Young, Booger McFarland, and Adam Schefter was a dream come true.

“Then, to be part of the revamping of it with Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark, and Marcus Spears, I just truly enjoyed those experiences.”

Griffin III will continue presenting his podcast RG3 and The Ones on YouTube.

The 34-year-old remains confident that he’ll find a new analyst role in the near future.

“I’ll miss the people there that I got a chance to work with and I wish them the best moving forward,” Griffin continued.

“For me, and what the future holds, it’s just whatever God has in store for me.

“I’m just going to keep walking by faith and not by sight and continue to just cover the game the way I know how to cover it, with the excitement and the enthusiasm.

“That is just me being my true, authentic self. There is no act here. I’m just always gonna be that guy.”

RG3’s firing was blamed by ESPN on cost-cutting measures, per Awful Announcing .

Griffin III declined to comment further on specifics regarding his exit from the network.

With this season’s schedule now revealed, eager NFL fans are looking to secure tickets to their favorite games.

You can start buying tickets for some games on several sites now:

Before purchasing tickets on resale websites check pricing as they are third-party sellers and, importantly, the cost can vary depending on demand. You may pay more than an official ticket, though you can also get good last-minute deals too.

But if you can’t be there in person, don’t worry, there’s still time to set up your stream before the season starts.

You can also keep up to date with the latest NFL coverage right here at The U.S. Sun.

He had two years remaining on his contract and had been due to appear in the broadcast booth alongside Mark Jones on college football games.

The former Heisman Trophy winner continues to receive his annual seven-figure salary from ESPN.

And he confirmed he was open to offers with the new NFL season just days away.

“I’ve got no bad blood with legacy media,” Griffin added.

“But there could be teams at Fox, NBC, CBS, Amazon, Netflix, or anywhere else that I would enjoy working with as well.

“I’m not gonna close the door on anything.”
