A DRIVER has been left fuming after a mechanic allegedly ruined her car and overcharged her for the privilege.

The woman, who decided to remain anonymous, was shocked to find her vehicle still damaged and with a shocking paint job when she went to pick it up.

“Very just kind of soul-crushing to me that my trust was broken and I was so – I feel stupid which I’m not,” she told ABC affiliate WSOC-TV .

The driver chose to speak out after fearing that other people in the area would face the same problem.

She allegedly met the mechanic when she was at a Starbucks in Steele Creek, Charlotte, North Carolina .

After reportedly overhearing him talking to another customer about their vehicle, the driver decided to approach him to ask him about her Jeep .

The driver said she ended up hiring him to fix some dents and to paint the rims a certain shade of red.

However, the situation took a turn for the worse.

“He spray-painted [the rims] this hideous, not the red that I wanted,” the woman said, also claiming he didn’t get rid of the dents.

After this, the mechanic also allegedly started making other bizarre promises, some including free fixtures for her car.

She claimed that the mechanic offered to install a camera for her and when she said she couldn’t afford it, he offered it for free.

He also allegedly said he would give her a free speaker.

The driver continued to say she couldn’t afford to pay him for the parts but this was allegedly brushed aside by the mechanic.

However, according to the driver, he never ended up fitting the additional parts that would supposedly be free.

While her car was with the mechanic, she had to rent another vehicle, costing her nearly $1,000 in total, per the publication.

“I probably spent almost $1,000 between the rental car and what I gave him,” she said.

WSOC-TV previously spoke with two other drivers who claimed they also met the same mechanic at coffee shops, but that he approached them in those cases.

I probably spent almost $1,000 between the rental car and what I gave him.

They told the publication that despite taking their money , the mechanic didn’t do the work he promised, or at least didn’t do it fully or correctly.

Fellow driver Keri Boyce told the outlet that she believed she could trust him as he had a website and contact cards for his business.

Boyce said that incredulously, the mechanic gave her car to another customer as a loaner, without her approval.

Boyce was left with “no words” thinking the situation “couldn’t get any crazier.”

Though some people reported the mechanic to law enforcement, they said officers told them it was a civil issue, not a criminal matter.

The U.S. Sun has been unable to contact the mechanic for comment.
