The board members would like to thank all of those that have stepped up to help us out already this year. The Coquille Indian Tribe, Sproul Timber and East Fork Lumber, Knife River, Sause Brothers, Clean Rivers, Oregon Pacific Bank, Coos Bay Rotary, Ziply Fiber, The Shopper, City of Myrtle Point and some private donors as well as the volunteers that helped put backs and sides on all the old bleachers to bring them up to code. A big Thank You! We will be sending out sponsor letters in the near future.

We have several projects that we are working on: the new music amphitheater, the new pavilion, upgrades to the Clarno building, the museum needs a new roof since a tree fell on it this winter, the Oaks building’s foundation is sinking, an addition to the Llama barn to house all the animals the growing 4H clubs are bringing, the new beer garden saloon and sometime in the future a covered area that we will be able to use in the winter. The museum project at $35,000 and the Oaks project at $30,000 are in urgent need of being completed. We could use donations of money and materials, such as rock, fill dirt, and lumber.

The Fairgrounds are not supported by county funds, we have to support ourselves. We do this by putting on the fair each year, renting out our facilities and through donations and grants. Another thing people don’t realize is that the money brought in now cannot be spent until the next fiscal year unless the donor specifies what they want the donation to go towards.

If you are interested in helping out financially or with a project please contact the fair office at

    541-396.2200.
