The Coos Bay Farmers Market opened the market to the community for the first time during the 2024 season on Wednesday, May 1.

The Market is being held every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the heart of the Historic Coos Bay Downtown District (between 101 South and 3rd Street) from May through October.

Representatives from the CBDA Farmers Market tout the local event as serving as the hub of the coastal community. They strive to provide fresh and local goods to the community while supporting local farmers and artisans.

Some of the different items available to purchase from vendors include fresh, seasonal produce that's bursting with flavor, local honey, eggs, and other farm-fresh favorites, homemade baked goods, jams, and candies to satisfy a sweet tooth, as well as unique handcrafted treasures from talented artisans.

The markets also feature live music from So It Goes Coffeehouse to keep the vibes flowing, fun demonstrations and children's programs.

The Coos Bay Market accepts SNAP, WIC, EBT, DUFB and senior checks. Market visitors can stop by the information booth to learn more about programs like Double Up Food Bucks that can stretch grocery budgets.

For more information about the farmers market, email Market Manager Melissa Hasart at coosbayfarmersmarket@gmail.com or follow Coos Bay Farmers Market on Facebook for updates.
