Netflix has found the formula for audience attention amid the waning days of summer and back-to-school season, and it involves one part Halle Berry, one part Mark Wahlberg, and a lot of action.

The two Hollywood A-listers have given Netflix a major streaming hit, as their action comedy “The Union” is the most-watched program for the third consecutive week on the Samba TV Weekly Wrap Report.

“Industry” comes in behind “The Union” this week, as the buzzy HBO and Max series climbs the chart from No. 6 last week.

Netflix holds the next four spots on this week’s chart. “Worst Ex Ever,” the streamer’s latest true-crime docuseries, “dissects the dark side of love” and comes in third this week. No. 4 is “The Accident,” a Mexican drama series.

“The Deliverance,” at No. 5 , is a horror film with even more star power in it than “The Union.” Led by Oscar winner Mo’Nique, each of the film’s four leads has an Academy Award nomination on their resume. No. 6 is “Incoming,” a teen party comedy about high school freshmen. The final Netflix entry on this week’s chart — “Dark Winds,” a 2022 AMC series recently added to the library — comes in at No. 9.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” returned for its second season with three episodes added to Amazon Prime Video on Aug. 29. That put the show at No. 7 this week.

“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is No. 8 this week, dropping down from third last week. In the last spot is “Bad Monkey” on Apple TV+, which slides down from No. 7 one week ago.

Politics took the lead on the linear chart this week, as Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz sat down for an exclusive interview with CNN that aired on Aug. 29.

The presidential candidate’s first major interview drew enough viewers to push down the normal linear front-runner, “America’s Got Talent,” which is in second this week, with another edition airing in fourth. Third place belongs to country singer Toby Keith, as his ”American Icon” concert special aired on NBC.

Beyond that, it’s the usual mix of game shows and contests. “The Bachelorette” has airings in both fifth and 10th, while “Wheel of Fortune” holds spots six, eight, and nine. The only other program to crack the chart is “American Ninja Warrior,” in seventh.

The Wrap Report provides an exclusive first look at the most watched movies and TV series from the past week across both streaming and linear television sourced from viewership trends collected from Samba TV’s panel of more than 3 million households, balanced to the U.S. Census.
