    Thief River Falls - Brian Olson, 66, of Thief River Falls, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and caretaker, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Brian Lynn Olson was born on April 17, 1957, to Erwin and Corene (Bottem) Olson in Thief River Falls. He attended school in Thief River Falls. Brian worked at Swede’s Grocery, his dad’s store growing up. He loved working alongside his dad at the store. He also worked at Hible’s 8th St. Station and Arctic Cat. Brian worked the last 32 years at Skylite Apartments, doing maintenance and helping the residents with anything they needed. Brian met his soulmate, Sharon, through her brother Raymond when he was in his early twenties. Brian told everyone that when they met, he knew she was the one he was going to marry. Brian and Sharon were married on July 19, 1986, at Silverton Lutheran Church, in rural Thief River Falls. The couple enjoyed 38 years together. They had two children, Amber and Ryan. Brian enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, flying RC airplanes, cooking and trying new recipes, listening to old-school country music, shopping at Costco, BSing, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his job and loved working alongside his boss, Heidi. Brian is survived by his wife, Sharon of Thief River Falls; children, Amber (Jason) Brandenburg of Fargo, ND and Ryan (Kayla) Olson of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Taylar and Peyton Brandenburg of Fargo, ND, Olivia Olson of Grand Forks, ND, and Hunter Sonterre of Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Lynell Omlid of Thief River Falls, Laurel Olson of Bemidji, Lorna (Jeff) Olson of Thief River Falls, and Brenda Olson of Thief River Falls; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, and friends. Brian is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brothers-in-law, Duane Olson and Ron Omlid; and one nephew, Jim Troy Jr. A memorial service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
