With heat index values expected to soar between 105 to 110 degrees, the advisory will remain in effect from 10 AM to 6 PM today. This dangerous combination of extreme heat and scattered storms calls for heightened awareness and caution across the region.

The NWS warns that the soaring heat and high humidity could lead to heat-related illnesses.
