City of St. Pete announces big school supply drive for students in need
The City of St. Petersburg’s Bay Vista Recreation Center is hosting a school supply drive to help St. Pete students entering grades K-8 prepare for the upcoming school year. The donation drop-off location will be Bay Vista Recreation Center, 7000 4th St. S, from now until July 31. The center will be accepting donations of new items Monday through Thursday, 8am-8pm:
City council approves roofing assistance program
July 15, 2024 - St. Petersburg City Council members approved the new Rapid Roof Replacement Program at their July 11 meeting. The initiative provides financial assistance for South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area residents to replace roofs and complete related repairs. The council also increased the Affordable Single-Family Homeownership Program’s rehab assistance from $45,000 to $60,000 for properties with an active code violation related to the roof.
