WILKES-BARRE — Two people were arraigned on allegations they stole a hotel’s master card key and entered numerous rooms at the facility on Kidder Street, Wilkes-Barre.

Joel Mario Perez, 30, of Ashley, and Carisa Mychayliw, 47, of Roaring Brook Township, were charged with burglary, criminal trespass and theft. Mychayliw was further charged with false identification to law enforcement.

    According to the criminal complaints:

Police responded to Fairfield Inn and Suites for two people, identified as Perez and Mychayliw, fleeing the hotel with a pillow case.

Police learned the pair used a master card key to enter hotel rooms and stole two laptop computers from a room, the complaint says.

The complaint alleges Perez and Mychayliw slept in a hotel room without payment or authorization.

Perez and Mychayliw were arraigned Monday night by District Judge Michael Dotzel of Wilkes-Barre Township and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $7,500 bail, each.
