Wichita Falls will soon have a new meat market specializing in Mexican and Hispanic items.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation confirms that La Mexicana Meat Market will open at 3906 Old Jacksboro Highway.

The owner is Wichita Santoyo LLC of North Richland Hills.

The company will remodel an existing 7,220 square-foot building at an estimated cost of $1 million. Starting date for construction was Monday, and the project is due to be completed Feb. 28.

The building is a former Family Dollar Store that closed in May 2023. That store closed about the same time that a new Family Dollar/Dollar Tree store opened a few blocks north on Jacksboro Highway.

Those stores opened in a former location of a La Michoacana market.
